About Us

CSIO-Indo Swiss Training Centre (ISTC) was established in the year 1963 in collaboration with the Swiss Foundation for Technical Assistance, Switzerland. It was formally inaugurated on 18th December, 1963 by the late Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. Since its inception, the Centre has come a long way and made its presence felt at the regional and the national level. The Centre has interdisciplinary programmes in tune with global trends in technical education.

The unique methodology of the practice oriented training in ISTC is learning by doing while working with the latest technology with accuracy and precision, igniting new ideas and innovation. The right work habits, a sense of responsibility, co-action and leadership qualities are emphasised in the process.

A cutting edge is provided to ISTCians by organising sports and games, blood donation camps, NCC and other co-curricular activities throughout the year which imbibe in them, punctuality and dutifulness, commitment and sincerity, teamwork and pride in labour.

The Centre also takes pride in its alumni who have established their own manufacturing units and are excelling as entrepreneurs. Others have found their way to far-off destinations like USA, Australia, Canada, China, Singapore etc.

ISTC is an integral part of CSIR-Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIR-CSIO).
